Helpful reading
Practical guidance from the practice, written to help you care for your smile between visits.
A healthier mouth rarely arrives in one appointment. Most of the change you notice in a before-and-after photo starts with ordinary habits: brushing the gumline, cleaning between teeth, and coming back before a small problem grows. The photos above show the kinds of difference that follow when gums calm down, worn teeth are rebuilt, or a tired smile is restored. They are published clinical examples, not patients of this practice, and your own result depends on your teeth, gums, and the plan we agree together.
Gum health is often the first visible shift. When plaque stays along the margin, gums look puffy and bleed easily. A thorough clean, plus a gentler daily routine, can bring the tissue back to a firmer, paler line. That is why we talk about floss or interdental brushes before we talk about colour. Whitening and crowns sit on a foundation that is already stable.
Shape and shade come next, and they are not the same treatment. Alignment, bonding, veneers, or ceramic crowns each solve a different problem: a chip, a dark tooth, a gap, or a bite that has worn the edges flat. Looking at several mouths side by side is useful because a “better” smile is not one template. Some people want a quieter improvement that still looks like them. Others need a fuller rebuild so they can chew comfortably again.
Bring a photo of a smile you like, and also a photo of your own smile on a normal day. We will walk through what is realistic, how long each step takes, and which habits will protect the result once you leave the chair. Small, repeatable care is what keeps the “after” looking like the photo months later.
